My Wish
(Objective)
An effort to simplify the wish granting process at Make A Wish India.
How can we simplify and speed up the wish granting process at Make A Wish India.
My process
Research
User research gave me the understanding and data that I need to begin building the product.
User Flows and User Personas
Once I discovered a problem, I embraced it. This involved getting away from the computer and talking to people in their own environments.
Building user flows and user Personas helped me guide my project.
Wireframing
Using all my knowledge, I built well informed wireframes to explore solutions and ideation.
UI/UX Design
Using hierarchy, type, text and color to bring the product to life .
Defining the problem
- Problem: Currently it takes a lot of time to refer a child to make a wish foundation which results in delays for a child to get their wish granted.
- Goal: To expedite the wish granting process so that more children can get their wishes granted .
- Why this Goal? Since children respond better to medical treatment after getting their wish granted, more children getting their wishes granted will lead to more children responding better to medical treatment.
Users and Audience
- Through my journey mapping work, I discovered that wish staff often had many points of contact with the volunteers and staff who were working on their wish, including emails, phone calls, texts, and Facebook messages.
- They also found it hard to keep track of all the information relating to the wish children. It was particularly difficult for the wish staff to keep track of the active applications and the wish archive since all the information was manually fed onto a computer.
- Keeping all the use cases in mind. I created a design for a Make-A-Wish application that would streamline communication and application records for wish employees, giving them one less thing to worry about.
